Washington School for the Blind-Tactile Campus Maps
Now Open!
Working closely with the Superindent and O&M Trainers, Touch Graphics created five talking tactile maps showing the campus as a whole, and the interior of the main classroom building. The maps highlight “tactile points of interest”, touchable sculptures, fountains and braille signage scattered all over campus.
Specifications:
27 inch Android touchscreens
Tactile skin laminated to the tablet glass.
Title, scale bar, compass rose, map key and captions appear on the left side.
An index of places on campus appears on the right side.
Rising-pitch sonification guides users finger to any destination in the index.
